The Inspiration
The Flowers
Florist’s inspiration: The art piece that we selected is one of three studies made in preparation of the great painting depicting the coronation of the Dogaressa of Venice, Maria Foscari, in 1423. The two pages are standing with great poise and gracefulness as they await the beginning of the coronation. An amazing art piece creates feeling and emotion. Drawing inspiration from the two pages, our floral art piece displays grace and poise similar to that of the pages. We selected the rich colors of coral with touches of burgundy and gold to accent the painting. The rose was added as an ever-present symbol of grace and strength as the butterfly ranunculus adds the soft delicate touch. The goal is to look upon the floral piece with admiration and awe much like the pages did on that day of crowning centuries ago.
THE DESIGNER
Name
TreBella Events LLC
TreBella Events LLC is a planning and event floral design company owned by Shawn Somervill, located in a quaint town of Southern Maryland called “Loveville”, MD. Shawn has a degree in Architectural Engineering and loves to design and create. As a child she always had a sketchbook nearby. After working in the wedding planning field and being surrounded by flowers, that love of design shifted to florals. "I’m kind of obsessed with it. I strive to provide high quality florals with unique twists on the design. Nothing brings me more joy than to walk the floral wholesaler floor; stumble across a quirky flower; and create something amazing with it! There are so many colors and textures that come together in the world of design. The possibilities are endless!"
As the Lead Designer, Shawn looks to every client as an opportunity to create a timeless design that is unique to their journey in life. "Whether it incorporates a specific accent, a unique color, or special flower, I am all for it! I have a gifted staff who is dedicated to being professional and courteous. We have such a close rapport with top planners and vendors. This has afforded us the opportunity to work on a wide range of event types - weddings, galas, birthday parties, grand openings, bar and bat mitzvahs, anniversaries, social events, and charitable fundraisers."
