7. The Triumph of the Dogaressa
The Flower Bloom Studio
Chandra Robinson
2026 installation
First Floor - Great Staircase
The Inspiration
The largest work of art in the collection, The Triumph of the Dogaressa depicts the 1424 inaugural procession of the doge of Venice, Francesco Foscari, and his wife, Dogaressa Marina. It was painted by Spanish artists Josè Villegas y Cordero in 1882-1893.
The Flowers
Recipe: Orchids, anthuriums, roses, other blooms, silk
Florist’s inspiration: Strategically positioned along the stairwell, this installation blends silk and blooms to create a moment of opulence inspired by the regal procession depicted in Triumph of the Dogaressa. Drawing from Villegas y Cordero’s masterful use of depth and contrast, bold florals are layered with flowing silk fabrics to echo the movement and grandeur of the descending figures.
THE DESIGNER
Chandra Robinson
The Flower Bloom Studio
A DMV native, Chandra Robinson and her husband founded The Flower Bloom Studio with a shared desire to build something meaningful for their family. While the studio was born from their joint entrepreneurial vision, it also marks Chandra’s return to her creative roots and to her passion for design outside the corporate world. After spending more than 20 years leading enterprise strategy and change communications, she felt called to build something meaningful, beautiful, and lasting—something she could one day pass along to her three children as they grow into adulthood. A self-taught florist, Chandra has always gravitated toward creative expression—whether in interior design, art, fashion, or anything she could dream up—but her passion for floral design blossomed into a true craft through intentional study, hands-on practice, and learning from some of the industry’s best. Today, she continues to refine her artistry while ensuring that every design produced by her and her team reflects the studio’s signature style—premium blooms, whimsical movement, and uniquely thoughtful compositions. The Flower Bloom Studio is more than just Chandra’s personal creative endeavor; it is a family-owned brand rooted in joy, hospitality, and the desire to create lasting memories for every occasion. With the blend of a corporate strategist’s precision and a creative’s imagination, Chandra brings not only elevated floral artistry but also exceptional operational excellence and customer service to every client experience. Our mantra is “where every petal tells a story”—and it’s through this mantra that we approach each design with intention, care, and a desire to create something meaningful for every client we serve.
