The Inspiration
This monumental bronze statue of Buddha seated on a lotus blossom was made during the Edo or Tokugawa period (1603-1868) for use in a temple.
The Flowers
Florist’s inspiration: The idea we have for our arrangement represents the interior of the Buddha- peace, power, balance, love, all operating at the same time. Our intention is to inspire viewers to recognize all this is within themselves. To spark that understanding that they have these powers and don’t need outside sources is our goal.
THE DESIGNER
Michael Lanni
Volanni Floral
For Michael Lanni, the art of floral design is a sacred process of receiving and giving. Receiving a commission presents the opportunity to work with the natural beauty of flower to create your sculpture. Engaging the creative process with this appreciation of beauty instills the sculpture with love and energy from this vibration. When you present the Volanni design, others will sense that you are not just giving flowers, but appreciation. To realize this appreciation in another is to receive the gift of giving. It is this philosophy of design that informs his art.
