The Inspiration
One of eight wool-and-silk tapestries in the Diana series, this panel depicts the Greek goddess in a romantic embrace with a man wearing a crown. The tapestries were made in the atelier of Jacques Guebels and Jan Raes in Brussels (Flanders), ca. 1600
The Flowers
Recipe: Frittalaria, delphinium, ranunculus, helebore, tweedia, calla lily, ruscus, tulips, green dianthus, curly willow
Florist’s inspiration: I’m inspired by the outdoor setting of the piece as well as the movement and drape in the clothing of the subjects.
