The Inspiration

The Andersons’ china included these porcelain plates from a dinner service in a Chinese rose medallion pattern made in the mid-late nineteenth century.

The Flowers

Recipe: Woody and flowering branches, tall blade grasses, mixed alliums, kales, artichokes, dates, ginger, lilies, amaranth, assorted culinary herbs

Florist’s inspiration: My inspiration begins beneath our feet-- in the pantry’s busy green and white floor. Its rhythm, repetition, and energy sparked the palette for this installation, but rather than echoing its complexity, I chose to distill it. The result is a sculptural composition that quiets the pattern into an intentional statement rooted in green and white botanicals with splashes of vibrant color to reflect the Andersons’ dinnerware.
