The Inspiration
The carved walnut choir stalls, made in the seventeenth century, were removed from a church in Naples, Italy, and installed in this room to impress the Andersons’ guests rather than to use for seating.
The Flowers
Recipe: Tycoon rose, red ranunculus, pin cushions, red tulips, hypericum, chasmanthe saturnus and ruscus greenery.
Florist’s inspiration: Guests of Larz and Isabel Anderson once entered their home through the Choir Stall Room,lined with impressive walnut choir stalls crafted in Italy and adorned with murals. The atmosphere of the space inspired me to create a floral arrangement that would stand out against the dark wood, catching the sunlight streaming through the windows and warmly welcoming visitors as they arrive. The playful dance of red and orange hues invites you to pause, admire the room with its intricate stalls and the insignias of the societies the Andersons belonged to, and engage in conversation before entering the next room.
