The Inspiration

Original to the room, this Model A grand piano way made by Steinway & Sons of New York in 1898. The custom gilded mahogany and tulip wood case was made to match other furniture in the Ballroom.

The Flowers

Florist’s inspiration: I hope that my design will reflect an artistic interpretation of a musical cleft (metal structure) with flowers representing the notes of music suspended from the structure. I wanted this year’s design for Art in Bloom 2022 to go one step beyond what the eyes see when looking at the gorgeous piano at Anderson House. My goal is for the viewer to imagine hearing the piano play music with my visual representation of the sound that the piano creates!
