The Inspiration
This 1899 bronze fountain statue, titled Young Neptune Fighting the Monsters of the Deep, was sculpted by Italian artist Adolfo Apolloni and cast in Rome.
The Flowers
Florist’s inspiration: The fountain with Neptune wrestling an Octopus while balancing on 2 clam shells spoke to me! For one I love the ocean and second I had the amazing opportunity to live in Hawaii for 4 yrs. In an abstract design I will be using Monstera leaves to create a base element for the design with fantail willow climbing through the arrangement to represent Neptune. Slipper Orchids and Hanging Amarnathus will create the movement of the octopus creating a 3d visualization.

Lisa is the owner and head florist here at The Rosy Posy! She first fell in love with floral design when she was just 15 years old after discovering her natural talent for the art. Growing up in York, England (one of the oldest cities in England!) Lisa learned classic floral design and mastered in European wedding design. After attending college, she traveled throughout the world completing programs and taking classes from other masters of floral design.
Knowing that she wanted to open her own business, Lisa went back to school and got a degree in accounting. She worked within brick and mortar stores all over the world, while traveling with her husband (a 21 year U.S. Navy veteran). Whilst stationed in Hawaii, Lisa opened her own store called The English Rose, she owned and operated the store for 7 years. She did all this while raising her 3 beautiful daughters!
After moving back to the continental U.S. and her husband returning from deployment, Lisa decided to focus on her passion for wedding and event florals.
Designing florals for weddings is what brings Lisa joy and gives her that feel-good factor we all strive to achieve!
In January 2019, The Rosy Posy was born! We have the most amazing team and Lisa’s girls and husband often help out.
For Lisa this is truly a dream come true!

Donnamaria is a published, award-winning portrait and event photographer based in the Washington DC-Maryland-Virginia area. She owns and operates Circa Life Images Studio, a 2,500 square foot space located on the north end of Waldorf in Southern Maryland. The spacious facility has a very large bay door entrance and offers a range of professional imaging services to include portrait, lifestyle and automotive photography. The studio is conveniently located off the main thoroughfare, MD Route 301, with ample parking just a few feet from the main entrance. She also travels internationally to provide on location photography services.
