The Inspiration
This 1899 bronze fountain statue, titled Young Neptune Fighting the Monsters of the Deep, was sculpted by Italian artist Adolfo Apolloni and cast in Rome.
The Flowers
Recipe: Tropical floral and plant material, protea, birds of paradise, orchids, various tropical foliage, bamboos, ti plants, ferns, monsteras leaves
Florist’s inspiration: The fountain is the focal point of Mrs. Anderson’s Winter Garden. Among her many accomplishments, she also authored many non-fiction travel accounts and children’s stories. One that inspires us is her book, “The Spell of the Hawaiian Islands and the Philippines”. Her travel discovery describes the beautiful tropical Flora and Fauna of the Hawaiian Islands, and the customs of the Hawaiian culture. Blue parrots are also described, which are native to the Philippines.
